Battling the Flu Epidemic

Arrowhead RSVP volunteers teamed with volunteers from Northland Volunteer Center and Lake County 4-H in an intergenerational project to put together 900 Emergency Packets for the public who contracted the H1N1 Flu and may not be able to access medical treatment right away due to the overwhelming number of people visiting healthcare facilities. Packets contained helpful information about self-treatment, medical supplies, and personal care items to help ease the suffering of those stricken by the flu. This project was sponsored by the Lake County Health Department and packets were distributed to households identified as having the H1N1 virus, senior high rises, day care centers and other entities.
